The News

Top news so far....I have had a few entries now from artists involved, and might I say they look rather sharp....some might say they look good enough to put in a colouring book! ;)

The entries have started coming in now fast and furious! Looks like you artists out there really have some brilliant imaginations! I know this must have been a bit challenging for some of you who arent used to using shapes or even outlines in your work!! believe me, I'm finding it hard not to just colour mine in. I hardly ever use outlines!
Here are a couple of pages for the book sent in by a few of the artists involved....as you can see they are both completely different in the sense that they have their own style/look about them and they both show that whether you want to make your illustration busy or simple, try not to worry too much as they both work really well! :D

And so as promised, a few more example for everyone to have a peek at!! These will be the last few that I publish, before the books and posters are made up, don't want to give the whole thing away now do I?! I really like everyone's submissions so far! great use of shapes, lines, and of course everyone's done really well keeping to the brief! I'm really pleased with everyone involvement and very thankful to everyone who's taking the time to create an illustration for this project! :)

Hey all....I hope everyone's had an excellent Bank Holiday weekend....Another Bank Holiday yet to come this month. SO...as I promised, a little news on the Project front. With the deadline up, I have now recieved all the Illustration submissions I am going to accept. A MASSIVE thank you to all of the artists that took the time to draw up a piece for the colouring books/posters. I have also been in talks with a local facility that are open to let me use their venue space to launch the open night of the Project!!! It's all go from here on out....I will keep you all posted on the dates and venue info as it unravels. Also with the prices of the books from the printers. I will be in touch with all the artists involved regarding the small donation towards having the books/posters printed, really soon once I have a settled with a quote. :)

Hello everyone!! Ever so sorry for the long delay on the updates front! Things have been pretty hectic and so the project was put on the back burner for a week or two. BUT! now it's back in full swing. For those of you that don't yet know I have been interviewed and featured in a local newspaper about the project. You can read all about it here. It was a real delight to have been contacted so quickly after sending in a letter just telling them about the project and asking whether or not they could help in any way. And well....they did! MASSIVELY! A few days after I was featured I was contacted by BBC ESSEX a radio station based in Chelmsford, Essex. They wanted me to talk a little bit about the project live on air! So...I plucked up some courage and was featured on the Dave Monk morning show. It was such an honour and huge help to have them interview me, as well as plug the project for help printing it. So no I sit in wait to see if anything comes of both spots in the news. If nothing does, I will look at contacting some printers myself. :)

SO! It's been a while since I last updated the news feed. SO sorry about that! Been super super busy you see setting out the pages for the book and designing the front cover. You see we have had a very generous donation from a good friend of mine of 200 books. AMAZING RIGHT?! They are actually at the printers right now being processed and i'm going to be receiving one this week hopefully. I just need to sort out another page as there wasn't enough to fill out the pages. Looks like I'll have to put just one more illustration together for it and use the one I was going to use for the posters. WHICH I will still be using for the posters I might add. :)
I have also been in touch with a local councillor who is putting the project before a committee to see whether or not the project will get another sponsor for 300 more books. Fingers crossed that this actually comes about! The more books, the more money I can raise for the hospital. :D
Now I think that's everything so far. Other than this here blog site being a little different from the site you may have found yourself on at the beginning of the project. Things are tight, as I'm sure you're all well aware. And due to this I have had to cancel my hosting, so I have transfered all of the information from the site to this one. I will be re-directing this site to the www.ohgoshproject.com domain as and when my hosting has ended. (the end of this month). Updates will be much easier now and plus everyone can comment on the project as they see fit. :) TTFN!

BIG NEWS on the project front!! Finally I hear you cry....Well, although it would seem I have been quiet, I have also been busy getting the finer details of the project organised. SO! We have a launch date and venue for the books and posters. EXCITING RIGHT?! More details on that as soon as I have the books in my possession....which leads me to the next part of news....the books and posters are being printed RIGHT now and I shall be picking them up personally next friday. It's all coming together very nicely indeed. I have had 200 of the books donated by a very lovely and kind hearted Sign Maker/Artworker - Jackie Haydon and have then gone ahead and used the same printers she is using to have a further 200 books and 50 posters printed. GREAT news right?! Next step, sort out the layout of the venue, organise some cakes and drinks and then promote promote promote! I will probably also set up a pay by cheque scheme for those of you who wont be able to make it to get a book, but would really like one.
A small note to all those involved in the project (the artists) It would be super cool if you wanted to send me some promo bits and bobs (postcards, stickers, badges, business cards....) of yourselves so I can put small packs together and hand them out at the launch....You've all helped me so much I want to help you guys out too!! so please do spread the word amongst yourselves and get in touch via email - irarmadilloboy [at] live.co.uk Thank yoooou!

Hello again. I picked up the 400 books and 50 posters from Jackie (the lady who donated 200 and printed the rest for me) and they look FANTASTIC! I have taken photos of the colouring book/poster and will be uploading the photos onto my portfolio. If any of the artists want to grab a download of their illustration in the book then please do go ahead. ALSO if you want to upload and show off your work via your own portfolio's and websites then please do go for it! Next stage is sorting out some adverts and contacting some newspapers and magazines about it. Then, very soon, I shall share with all, the date and location of the launch. :D - armadilloboy.prosite.com
